Technicolor, known as Vantiva, announces it has received ISO 27001 certification in cryptographic key production/distribution systems; and associated incident response services.
Las Vegas (USA), January 8th, 2020 — Technicolor (Euronext Paris: TCH, OTCQX: TCLRY) announces it has received ISO 27001 certification in cryptographic key production/distribution systems; and associated incident response services – two critical operational categories for network service providers (NSPs) offering connected home solutions to consumers. The ISO certification accelerates the process of validating compliance with Network Service Providers’ risk controls.
A-lign, an accredited third-party auditor, certified that Technicolor Connected Home has the technical controls and formalized IT security policies/procedures in place to conform with the requirements of ISO/IEC 27001:2013.
This is the latest development in Technicolor Connected Home’s ongoing commitment to bringing secure, open and innovative technologies to NSPs globally, with the goal to help NSPs deliver seamless connectivity and premium entertainment experiences to consumers in a risk adjusted manner. This is achieved by creating best-in-class — and highly secure — customer premises equipment (CPE) while partnering with the most ingenious companies in the connected home ecosystem.
The number of devices within connected homes is exploding as NSPs, application developers and consumer electronics companies bring new value-added services to consumers. While this is creating exciting new opportunities, it also elevates the risk to which consumers — and NSPs — are exposed. This raises major questions about how to secure the information and privacy of consumers.
NSPs are exploring the role that ISO 27001 certification can play in improving end-to-end security management while enhancing consumers’ confidence in the security of their connected devices.
“NSPs around the world have become much more demanding about including stringent security requirements in their requests for proposals for next generation CPE. Technology providers that are not ISO 27001 certified must prove their compliance separately with the security auditors of each NSP.
